A Martha's Vineyard legend since 1948 when it opened as Walmsley's Bakery, Back Door Donuts has been selling hot donuts from the bakery's back door since 1971. The experience is iconic: late-night lines on warm summer evenings, the smell of fresh apple fritters wafting through Oak Bluffs. Their massive, warm apple fritter is the stuff of legend — worth a ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard. In 2023, they expanded to Boston's Fenway neighborhood with a late-night pop-up at Loretta's Last Call on Lansdowne Street, serving hot donuts from 7 PM to 2 AM. Nationwide shipping available for fritters and cinnamon rolls.
