Just a remarkable bakery and deli in Utica, Holland Farms has a cousin to the jelly doughnut that has reached legendary status in Central New York. This over-filled black raspberry 'jelly bun' can be covered in powdered sugar, glaze, or bought plain. The bakery declares February 'Jelly Bun Month', and they routinely sell more than 50,000 jelly buns including heart-shaped ones for Valentine's Day. Their reputation extends far beyond donuts, but these treats have become a regional obsession.
